Links WWI Reenacting Links: Great War Historical Society - The website for our parent organization, the Great War Historical Society (GWHS). The GWHS is located in Southern California and its our umbrella organization. The Great War Forum - The official GWHS chat board. The website for our sister organization, the Great War Association (GWA) located in Nieuville, Pennsylvania and they're the oldest functioning WWI living history organization in the nation. They also have a permanent battle site complete with trenches and other fortifications. The Trench Line is the chat board for the GWA. A very useful website and forum, covers a wide variety of periods for reenacting. The International European WWI Living History Forum - This is a chat board covering a wide variety of WWI reenacting and living history in Europe. It has a wide membership and it's interesting to get another "take" on reenacting, especially in light of ever-restrictive laws and bureaucratic red tape. It's also an excellent source for information on various aspects of the German, Austro-Hungarian, and Russian combatants. Battleground Belgium - This is the official site of a Belgium organization that is involved in a number of 20th Century impressions to include a WWI British Naval landing force impression. Check it out! WWI Vendor Links: Schipperfabrik is the leading source for American uniforms and equipment and is the best place to start in building your Doughboy impression. Mattimore Harness is THE source for American footwear. They not only stock the 1917 "Pershing Boot", but they're also working ondeveloping the earlier 1904 Field Shoe. Prairie Flower reproduces the head harness and chin strap for restoring the 1917 helmet. What Price Glory has been slowly building up a line of American uniform items and equipment including the earlier 1904 Field Shoe. The grandaddy of all WWI vendors, Great War Militaria has a small but excellent line of reproduction American uniforms. They are a bit more expensive but it's worth it.
